As a Deadpool Cosplayer, the Salon Comic in Valencia, Spain was an event that I had been looking forward to for months. In 2020, the event was held on the 26th and 27th of September, and despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was still held as planned. Of course, there were necessary health and safety measures in place, but this didn’t dampen the excitement of the event.
As I walked through the halls of the event, I was in awe of the creativity and passion of all the comic book fans around me. The exhibitions of the latest comic book releases, the panels and workshops, and the cosplay contest were all major highlights of the event. I had the opportunity to meet my favorite comic book artists and writers, who were available to sign autographs and answer questions.
But for me, the real highlight was the cosplay contest. As I sat on the chairs in the first row dressed as the Merc with a Mouth and cheered for the contestants, I felt like I was part of a community of fans who shared my love for comic books. The contest was a celebration of the creativity and passion of comic book fans, and it was a testament to the impact that comic books have on people’s lives.
I also had the opportunity to attend some of the panels and workshops offered at the event.
